The continuous increase in the cost of fuel and effect emission gases from burned into atmosphere when operating engine powered lawn mower has necessitated use abundant solar energy sun as a power source mower. A was designed, fabricated assembled on basis general principle mowing. components are; direct current (DC) motor, rechargeable battery, panel, galvanized steel blade various thicknesses shapes, speed controller. required torque needed to drive achieved through DC motor. motor controlled by controller with resistance circuit allowed at varied speeds. battery recharged charging circuit, which comprises panel charge Performance evaluation conducted developed (1 mm, 1.5 mm 2 mm) shapes cutting (two, three four blades). It found that efficiency ranges 70.50% - 84.10%, also capacity 0.05 ha h-1 0.27 h-1, uncut area range 15.90% 29.50%.
